Your role and the department

As Sales & New Business Development Manager, you are the result-oriented ambassador who, through the global network of chain and business partners, positions Duiker’s new value propositions and, where possible, converts these into studies and project sales. Especially in the field of CO2 reduction and the use of new and green energy carriers such as ammonia for heat and hydrogen production, there is a lot to be gained globally.

Projects range from conceptual feasibility studies to equipment related supplies for infrastructural and large industrial plants with aftercare and supply contracts, all characterised by a longer-term focus, (technological) risk management due to the capital-intensity of the plants, maximum safety and impact on society.

The Marketing & Sales team, in which the commercial aspects of business development of the company are clustered, identifies, qualifies & quantifies business opportunities in the broader sense, compose them into attractive technical and commercial value propositions that we aim to eventually convert into successful projects.

In your role you act as the hands-on Sales & Business development professional from within the organisation enquiries, with a significant New Business Development aspect;  aimed at initiating, building and maintaining partnerships for potential new business and product propositions which, based on the chosen strategy, can strengthen the ambition and mission of the organisation. The more commercial aspect compromises of presenting our valuable business propositions towards external parties, draw up quotations, clarify the propositions and assess its alignment with the customers strategy and objectives, conduct negotiations and conclude contracts for the new product portfolio of our company.

In this role, you can have a major impact on the success and future of the organisation, while contributing to a greener planet.

 

What do we ask of you?

We expect that you are intrinsically motivated, structure and carry out your own tasks independently. You engage yourself, usually with business partners, into developing new relationships at senior & technological levels. This is most frequenly with international project developers, investors and engineering consultancy companies, in which several stakeholders, alliances and partnerships can be involved for a longer term with a view to increasing value and growth for the company.

You are an entrepreneur and ambassador at the same time, have a strong affinity for technically and financially challanging value propositions, knows how to frame risks and identify sensitivities in a constructive, binding manner aimed at the long term.

Relationship broadening and renewal are continuous areas of attention. Legal skills and contractual knowledge are deployed to formalise partnerships with an attractive objective and growth opportunities alongside manageable effort, time and framed financial and technical risks.

After 1 year, you know the main energy transition ‘drivers’, you are in the relevant networks, you have sold two paid studies, signed three new letters of intent for cooperation and development and appointed one new consultant. With this and a concrete new application in your hand, you will contribute to Duiker’s ambition.

Candidates with the following would be highly preferred:

  • You are currently working on a MSc level in a Commercial Business Development position or similar discipline preferably within the industrial capital-intensive clusters Natural Resources, Energy & Chemicals and/or Oil & Gas.
  • You have additional knowledge with a track record in some of the following fields of innovation management, chemical process technology, mechanical engineering, pre-master Business Administration, MBA.
  • Excellent skills to engage with people, bridge cultural and technological positions towards partnerships with mutual interests.
  • Ability to work conceptually from complex perspectives; formulate and present background analysis with well-founded assessment by using sound methods for strategic business planning and presentation techniques.
  • You have excellent skills in the English language, some Dutch and preferably 2nd world language.

 

What do we offer?

  • The salary indication is between € 5.500,- and € 7.000,- gross per month depending on education, working experiences and achievements.
  • A Collective Labour Agreement that includes 38 vacation and leave days per calendar year, a pension plan with PME and a profit dependent bonus.
  • The position involves basically a full-time employment of 40 hours. However, a working week between 32 and 40 hours is open for discussion. In addition, attention is paid to the work-life balance with the possibility of hybrid work.
  • A very challenging position in an ambitious organization with a good and informal working atmosphere.
  • Training and development opportunities consisting of an individual development budget and additional support in training and development.
  • A vitality-budget and the opportunity to participate in collective insurances relating to income.
  • A one-year contract followed by a permanent position upon proven suitability.
